BIOGRAPHY

MILOŠ is one of the world’s most celebrated classical guitarists. His career began its meteoric rise in 2011, with the release of his international best-selling Deutsche Grammophon debut album ‘Mediterraneo’. Since then, he has recorded six chart-topping albums and earned legions of fans, awards and acclaim around the world through his extensive touring, media appearances, educational work and passionate advocacy for the classical guitar.

Now exclusive to Sony Classical, MILOŠ is committed to expanding the repertoire for the classical guitar. His Sony Classical album Baroque presents a carefully curated selection of Baroque works especially transcribed and arranged for the guitar, both solo and in collaboration with Jonathan Cohen and his ensemble Arcangelo. Throughout his career, MILOŠ has been equally passionate about new music; his Decca recording The Moon and the Forest features two world-premiere concertos by Howard Shore and Joby Talbot. His five subsequent recordings for Deutsche Grammophon and Decca span the core repertoire of the classical guitar in its Southern European and Latin American traditions, alongside more experimental and genre-bending projects. Among them is his acclaimed recording of Rodrigo’s two best-known works for guitar and orchestra, including the Concierto de Aranjuez, with Yannick Nézet-Séguin and the London Philharmonic Orchestra, which received widespread critical acclaim. Blackbird explored the music of the Beatles through the classical guitar and featured guest appearances by Gregory Porter, Tori Amos, Anoushka Shankar and Steven Isserlis, while The Sound of Silence continued this spirit of experimentation through arrangements and collaborations reaching beyond the instrument’s traditional repertoire.

Over the course of his career, the classical guitar’s popularity has grown considerably, with MILOŠ’ pioneering approach playing an important role in bringing the instrument to wider audiences. Aspiring guitarists can also learn from him through Schott’s ‘Play Guitar with Miloš’ series. In 2016, BBC Music Magazine included him in its list of ‘Six of the Best Classical Guitarists of the past century’.

MILOŠ has appeared as a soloist with some of the world’s greatest orchestras, including the London and Los Angeles Philharmonics, Philadelphia Orchestra, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Cleveland Orchestra, Atlanta Symphony, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, Orquesta Nacional de España, Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia and NHK Symphony Orchestra. As a recitalist, he has performed throughout Europe, North America, Asia and Australia, playing in many of the world’s leading concert halls and festivals. His landmark sold-out solo recital debut in the round at London’s Royal Albert Hall in 2012 was lauded by critics and attracted worldwide attention.

A committed advocate for music education, MILOŠ is actively involved in mentorship, sharing his experience with young musicians in the UK and abroad. In 2023 he launched the Miloš Karadaglić Foundation in Montenegro, a philanthropic organisation dedicated to empowering artistic excellence through scholarships, educational opportunities, partnerships and close mentorship. The Foundation supports exceptional young artists and has established itself as a regional hub of influence.

Born in Montenegro in 1983, MILOŠ moved to London at the age of 17 to study at the Royal Academy of Music. He was later elected a Fellow of the Royal Academy. He performs on a 2017 Greg Smallman guitar.
